6 Handy Foot Care Tips:

• Your feet carry the weight of your body all day. Look after them by moisturising them after you shower and giving them a bit of a massage.
• Wear the appropriate shoes for your chosen activity: working, running, tennis or netball, etc. Each activity comes with different demands on your feet, so make sure they are adequately supported and protected with the appropriate type of footwear.
• Wear a clean and dry pair of socks everyday.
• Exercise: Get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day to help keep the muscles in your legs strong and to ensure healthy circulation in your feet.
• Keep your nails short and cut them correctly. If you are prone to ingrown toe nails, come and visit us at The Podiatrist. Our friendly podiatrists can teach you how to cut your toenails correctly to prevent ingrown toe nails from occurring.
• Try not to keep your nail polish on for weeks. Nail polish works as an insulator for bacteria. Remove nail polish periodically, and let your toe nails breathe.
